A CHRISTMAS POEM
Sofia Perdomo, Eighth Grade

After a long time this year has come to an end.

We have gone through good and bad times but we are all still here,

so let's celebrate together another year.

Let's end it with tons of joy and cheer,

Because by this time, Santa is always near.

So keeping that in mind let's keep smiles on our faces .

Since Christmas isn’t the only thing that should be taking us places.

We have got New Year’s to wait for and much more next year.

In my opinion, giving up shouldn’t be an option any year.

Let's take this time to spend with family and friends,

while waiting for our presents to appear, meanwhile we are sleeping soundly in bed.

Due to the fact that there are so many goods things that will happen ahead,

let's keep our spirits up for what remains of this year

and try to be an even better person next year.

With all of this being said, there is one more thing to say :

"Merry Christmas to all and to all...a good night.

Goodnight."

A NOTE FROM OUR LEAD EDITORS

Thanks for taking some time to read The Eagle Chronicles. We're AST's online newspaper, created by a group of students passionate about writing, photography, design, and the freedom of the press.

If you'd like to help us continue putting together The Eagle Chronicles, reach out to JP Rivera, Marianne Sabat, or Eighth Grade English teacher Ms. Wynn!

WE'RE BACK! [october 2022]

This 2022-2023 school year, we seniors Jose Pablo Rivera and Marianne Sabat, have the privilege of being the lead editors of the Eagle Chronicles. As members of the club, we have been writing for this platform for some time now, and we are extremely proud to present this year’s first edition. Our vision is to diversify the newspaper’s staff, creating a team of writers, editors and designers that represent all of the different types of students found at AST. We aim to create a safe space for all voices to be heard, allowing the newspaper to be a platform for students who are interested in sharing their writing with our community. Our priority is to provide a space where respect is given to authors as well as readers and anyone involved in a story. We value different perspectives, opinions and interests. Our ultimate goal is to make sure that, while our writers share powerful stories and strong statements, the Eagle Chronicles is a platform where we build people up, and never tear people down, to help our community grow. :)
