Poem: Desperate Times

I miss thee, sound of motion, joy of day, luminous and prosperous light

Loving from afar, experiencing such detrimental loss

A desperate time, intact with distance loving, but souls love still engrossed,

Will we be able to enjoy what once was called freedom’s right?

Or will it be life that will take us away, slowly in its breeze.

Or feeling grateful for the voices still being heard?

Ah! The good old days where happiness wasn’t stirred.

Or is it really the end, A truth I haven't heard?

No, it's not my fate to die in such a catastrophic end.

But, ah! Freedom’s right and blessings, a home in which I dwell,

Its crowds, its motion, the nature of life

From living in a glorious blessing, to being stuck in a shell,

Its aromatic air, its natural fate, the sound of the crowd.

O God! Forgive our sins, forgive us humanity

Let us die, but not in such fatality!
