On October 25, 2022, after many closings and regulations due to the pandemic, our school was allowed to have a pep rally for the basketball team before they left for an AASCA tournament in San Pedro Sula. STUCO organized this event to have fun activities for athletes, students, and teachers.
Our cheer team is back and cheered during the athletes’ entrances. They also had a performance to pump up the crowd. We’re so glad our cheerleaders are back and hope to see them support our games in the future. GO EAGLES!!!
We were also able to see our athletes compete against students in the crowd with fun challenges. STUCO really went all out this year with these challenges, like planning a race in which an athlete and another student saw who could eat a fruit rollup faster, climb up and down stairs, run back and forth, finishing the race with a freethrow. The crowds were happy as some students beat the athletes. Seeing them make their shots was entertaining!
Finally, the pep rally ended with the most anticipated event of the day, the classic game of teachers versus students. Teachers like Ms. Kamari, Mr. Zambi, Ms. Joy, Ms. Ester, Mrs. Swanson, Mr. Jaen, and more participated against student athletes--who we hoped would lose. After a very intense game, the athletes did win with a somber reaction from the crowd. Our teachers still tried their best, and Mr. Zambi was awarded MVP.
The pep rally was extremely entertaining; we hope to experience more in the future. Thank you to our teachers, athletes, students, and, most importantly, the STUCO team who organized the event.
